2 weeks ago, I was visited by two uninvited guests from a religious organization. It was another branch of the church. One is Japanese and the other one is Italian. Both of them are young beautiful ladies. I guess they are around 25 from their looks. It wasn’t surprised me having them all of a sudden because it had been twice I met such preachers before. I wasn’t interested in their preaching but ignoring people was not really good especially when they came with good intention. So I just pretend as if I was listening to them. First question they asked was my religion and I replied, Christianity. They showed no expression but straight away asked me to read the book of the new branch. Jehovah, that’s title of it. Well, this wasn’t the first time I encounter the name.
Sometimes, these people gave me a headache. I just don’t understand why they still want to preach to us, even we are in the same church. The difference is just the name and I guessed it is more to a culture-matter than faith-matter. Different tongue, therefore different pronounciation. Just because of a small matter, it leads to a huge problem. Luckily, I was born in the most universal branch of the church. They never ever teach me to say they are wrong and we are the only righteous. It really is uniting us. If only the other branch could understand the true meaning of discipleship. For me, it was a beautiful thing having these different branches but still focusing on the teaching of the Lord. It was just like brothers and sisters. Therefore, should be no problem at all. It only shows nothing but a hunger of power if competing of which has more follower. If they really want to preach the way of salvation, why not follow the example of Mother Theresa. Her faith maybe based on Catholic but through her, many hearts were lead to Jesus and this was quoted by a Protestant pastor who always oppose the way of Catholics worship God. The church should work as one not opposing each other. It is already stated in the Bible,
There are many differences of administrations but the same Lord. (1 Corinthians 12:5)
For the body is not one member, but many. (1 Corinthians 12:14)
For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. (1 Corinthians 11:18)
So why still condemning each other? It’s just because of the cultural differences, not the Lord. I don’t see why there should be divisions among the church itself. Anyway, it’s nice to see the faithful hardworking servant of God travelling to the most unknown places reaching for people, lost lambs for the Lord. Cathya and Haruko, God bless you guys where ever you are. Hope to meet you again next time. The Lord be with you. :)
